Another order, another sparkly flower hat. I loved the twinkle this yarn made in the light!

I have been living in my apartment complex for 2.5 years now, and last fall I made friends with some people who have immigrated from Uzbekistan. Through rigorous games of charades and discovering Google Translate, we’ve been able to get along pretty well!
My neighbors have discovered that I knit, and they have placed orders with me. One woman ordered a red hat with a face, bow-tie, and whiskers. NO EARS. What the what!?
To make sure I had the order right, I went over to her apartment with paper and crayons to make a sketch. I included the ears, and she did this:

Still NO ears! So I began the project, all the time wondering what the heck I was making. Once it was done, I checked what I made with the picture.

Pretty dang close! I mean, the eyes could be closer together, but whatever. I marched over to my friend’s apartment and presented her the hat. Her grandson went WILD with excitement. I was still completely baffled, until she said there was something missing:

…a pom pom. Commence more bafflement! Here’s Tina modeling the final product. I have no idea why anyone would want a hat like this. If you have any ideas, let me know!

YO! By Gina at the Milford Craft Show!
FINALLY I have the internet back and I can start posting some of my crafty ventures this month! The craft show was a huge success. Gotta send a shout out to my awesome team: Tina, Sissie, Kim, Rafiki, Dylan and Kyle! Awesome. Also, I am pretty pumped about the customers that allowed me to take pictures of them in the hats. The Shark Hat was a big hit!

Chicken Hat! Inspired by something I saw on the internet… but I added chicken legs. A little long, but I love it!
